Each ZAKA volunteer has training according to the unit in which he volunteers.

For example:

A volunteer at Emet’s Hesed Unit undergoes professional and halachic training in the treatment of cavities.

A volunteer in a rapid rescue unit is trained as a medic.

A volunteer in the divers unit has diving degrees, etc.
